Thank you for reading and checking out my store,TheNextPhase(seller id: bmwlover).I’m a top-rated seller selling off much of the items I have collected in over 30+ years of collecting including my kaleidoscope collection.
Up for sale on this sale is:
Vintage *** EXTREMELY RARE *** 1991 or 1992 Bill O'Connor
"Series V" Limited Edition #90/130 Kaleidoscope
EXCELLENT, USED CONDITION - BEAUTIFUL!
EXTREMELY RARE, SELDOM EVER COMES UP FOR SALE!
Master Kaleidoscope Artist: Bill O'Connor!Bill O'Connor: The Series V is one of the finest 2-mirror kaleidoscopes ever made! It has a wonderful sense of proportions. The object case houses finely crafted ampules and lampworked glass. The mandalas produced are spectacular!!! My iPhone does a very poor job trying to capture photos of the mandalas, it kept alternately switching between which lens to use or constantly trying to refocus. Mine dates from 1991 (or early 1992) and is number #92 of just 130 produced!
Bill O'Connor has produced other kaleidoscopes, but the Series V is fine enough to earn him the title of Kaleidoscope Master Artist. The brass housing has some black spotting on it which I believe could be cleaned with brass cleaner but I have never touched it and generally speaking on heirloom pieces experts don't generally recommend trying to clean. I would advise AGAINST trying to ever clean the original brass!
The Kaleidoscope is mounted on what looks to be a teak or cherry wood base. The Series V scope measures approx.14" in height and 9" width/length. It is a2 Mirror scope and has exquisite fine ampules and lampwork glass. It is a 6 Point Dry Cell. The collar has what looks like a rotating ships wheel with 6 spokes. All colors are represented in the Kaleidoscope creations.
In the late 1990's/early 2000's I started collecting Kaleidoscopes, a few to begin with and then I found myself purchasing a couple a month before I realized my collection had grown to over 100! I have moved now and downsized to a small condo so almost all of them have to go (no room to display or store them anymore). But I love them all and hope you have a place for them in your home or kaleidoscope collection!
THIS KALEIDOSCOPE IS *** EXTREMELY *** RARE AND HARDLY EVER COMES UP FOR SALE ON THE SECONDARY MARKET. IN FACT, IT HAS ONLY COME UP FOR SALE ONCE BEFORE IN 2013 AND SOLD FOR OVER $2,300! I HAVE FINALLY DECIDED ITS TIME TO SELL MINE. STORED AWAY SAFE FOR MANY YEARS AND THEN DISPLAYED FOR ONLY A YEAR BEFORE I SOLD MY LARGE HOME. THIS IS AN INCREDIBLE KALEIDOSCOPEMADE BY A MASTERKALEIDOSCOPEARTIST! AN HEIRLOOM PIECE TO BE PASSED ON TO YOUR FUTURE GENERATIONS!!!!
