The vase has a distinctive archaic-inspired form, with a flared rim, tall neck, rounded body, and two loop handles on the shoulders. The rich blue, blue-gray, and dark brown glaze creates an attractive mottled effect, giving the piece a dramatic appearance.
The overall shape recalls traditional Chinese ritual bronze vessels, reinterpreted as a decorative ceramic object. It would make an attractive addition to a collection of Chinese ceramics, Chinese-inspired decorative arts, or studio pottery.
