Antique Madame Le Normand’s Gipsy Fortune Telling Card Game, attributed to Wehman Brothers of New York, circa 1900.Offered here is a 33-card partial set from the original 36-card Lenormand fortune-telling deck, an early American version of the classic 36-card Lenormand system. The cards feature numbered pictorial fortune-telling symbols together with inset traditional playing-card values. Particularly distinctive is Card No. 3, The Ship, depicting a sailing vessel flying an American flag—an identifying feature associated with American editions of this Lenormand design.33 of the original 36 numbered cards are present. The three missing cards are:#9 Bouquet, #12 Birds and #27 Letter. Also included are two period blank/unprinted cards found with the set. They show age-appropriate wear including edge and corner wear, surface wear, creasing and occasional small losses or heavier wear. Please examine photographs carefully for individual condition. No original box or instruction booklet is present. An unusual surviving example of an early American Lenormand / fortune-telling deck, particularly appealing for collectors of antique playing cards, divination cards, cartomancy, tarot-related material and early American gaming ephemera.Sold exactly as pictured. No claim of completeness: 33 of 36 numbered cards present, plus two blank cards.
